Tony is a prim photographer who becomes involved in with a free-spirited and raunchy girl, Maria. The main flies in their ointment are Chan Yee Tai (Tony's scheming and lecherous boss) and Madam Lam (a sexual predator). The couple eventually make plans to marry, and Tony mounts an exhibition of nude photos, but the exhibition is sabotaged by Chan. Maria's attempt to salvage the exhibition is quite something.

The "Green Elephant" is minimalist in terms of plot, but makes up for it in the strength of its performances. The whole film is an intimate snap shot into the depravity experienced by the main characters, and serves as a small scale character study. The lack of structure, although frustrating from a narrative stand point, serves to add to the nightmarish quality of the film.
